Dolly set up

It´s been a few years since I shoot dolly shots but after seeing a local Norwegian film crew in Folgefonna this weekend I took their idea and tried out a few shots.

I think dolly shots are usually too contrived but they do look great for certain things. But when everyone who shoots snowboarding does it and it becomes almost obligatory I rather look for other things / ways to film.

Anywho. Here´s the low budget dolly set up. Picture and video.

The most influential shot I can think of in my filmmaking, or at least as far as camera movement / dollies are concerned is this one of Donny Barley that Dan Wolfe filmed in the mid 90´s (first 2 sec of the clip).
