Saw a protest today.
It´s the day after the Swedish election and people in Stockholm went to protest against the Swedish Democracy party (right wing, nationalistic, racist party) who got 5.7% of the votes.

Two new clips from VHS.
Here's a clip with Eddie and Stian taking laps in Mammoth while the girls were gettin rad at the Jam.
Todd Richards and DC suit Sean Lake joined us for a few runs at the end of the day.
We also went to Sonora Pass (aka The Garden) the other day to look around.
Stian was definitely on a tanning mission as well.
The parking area at Sonora is usually packed with fellow filmers, photographers and riders but this day we were all by ourselves. Which wasn't surprising considering the snow conditions weren't top notch.

My friends Patrik and David just got nominated for an Oscar!

Patrik has had a couple of good years behind him to say the least.
Some critics award at the Cannes film festival in 2007, Sundance appearance in 2009 and Sundance premier event in 2010 together with Spike Jonze and then today... ta da.. Academy Award nomination aka Oscar. Impressive.
The above mentioned are all low budget short films so to get that kind of recognition for a film which total budget is less than one day of shooting for a snowboard movie like First Decent is huge.
David filmed all of the above. Good thing he´s better with the camera than the pliers.

Great work guys, very proud of you.
I hope to see you in LA soon then.

Iceland takes gold at X-Games
Here are Halldor´s fs 10 and bs 12, and a perfect 100 score.
Here´s their own edit, taken from their blog www.helgasons.com
If you don´t remember last years text judging fiasco you can go here to see how you make a mockery out of the riders.
Stoked for Mikkel, Torstein and Halldor, hope they kill it in slopestyle today as well. They qualified top 3 so I hope they end up top 3 as well.

Laugh or cry?
So my least favorite car makes a commercial with two skaters, in downtown LA.
I wasn´t sure if this was a joke, a serious commercial or some clip the students at Chapman were working on.
Apparently it´s a very serious piece with a serious budget.
The director seems like such an LA coke head with really bad skate knowledge and vocabulary. Sure he might not be what I´m stereotyping him as, but he seems like one.
What´s up with the iMovie super8 filter they are using? The angles are like beyond lame. Fuck he can´t even get the car to move around well. Looks like they have the handbreak on coming up the parking garage.
And the editing.. oh gees.. mirroring skate tricks is pretty lame too. But then again, only 0.0000001% of the people who watch this crap will notice/care about that.
Who likes this? I mean the car looks bad as it is, Jake´s and Pat´s skating looks pretty lame (even though they are very talented) and the camera, editing, and post production is horrible.
Hint to Ford. Give me a call next time. I´ll spend half your money, make your product look twice as good and save you from another failed commercial.
Here´s the behind the scenes clip:
It´s shit like this that keeps me wondering what I´m doing with my life. Why aren´t I making commercials that makes the company look good. It´s pretty apparent that they don´t want to look good.
