Extreme Segway

You can go off road with Segway´s in New Mexico. Funny thing is that I first tried a Segway in Albuquerque NM, in 04 I think.

Chaz Ortiz is REALLY good at skating.

A real game of skate.

When I play S.K.A.T.E I always lose on flips. I do well with shove-its and some no comply´s. But the kids these days won´t allow no comply´s.

Here´s a game by some dude who are probably born in the 70´s and they are very good at no comply´s, or is it no complies?

Here´s another great game of skate, with PJ Ladd and Benny Fairfax.

Say goodbye to mp3´s and other lame ass phones.

360 degree interactive clips, is nice.

I´ve seen some commercials where the stitch shots together to make the 360 degrees, like this commercial for Cyprus (I love Youtube).

But since people´s media habits have changes quite a bit in the past 5 years or so I feel that this camera rig from Yellowbird is pretty fitting for web watching.
I´d love to try it out, been thinking about some 360 degree shots ever since I saw that Cyprus commercial a few years ago.

So watch this clip and drag the mouse around, pretty awesome. And the music in this clip, AMAZING! I love Eric Prydz. Went to see him a little while back, insane.

Don´t forget that Red Bull has a very similar camera rig (I blogged about that a year or so ago). I wouldn´t mind taking it for a spin, pretty sure I could come up with some good shots.

Check out a few different clips with the Red Bull 360 cam here (movie your mouse around the flash video).

Any Americans out there who wish to defend their fellow countrymen?

Since some of my readers doesn´t appreciate my reflections on the American society I figured sucha headline would get them fired up :)

Here are the top 7 people who sued someone for their own stupidity and got away with it.
The list is from last years (2008) Stella Awards (www.stellaawards.com)

#7
Kathleen Robertson of Austin, Texas was awarded $80,000 by a jury of her
peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running
inside a furniture store. The store owners were understandably surprised by
the verdict, considering the running toddler was her own son.

#6
Carl Truman, 19, of Los Angeles , California won $74,000 plus medical
expenses when his neighbor ran over his hand with a Honda Accord. Truman
apparently didn't notice there was someone at the wheel of the car when he
was trying to steal his neighbor's hubcaps.

#5
Terrence Dickson, of Bristol , Pennsylvania , who was leaving a house he
had just burglarized by way of the garage. Unfortunately for Dickson, the
automatic garage door opener malfunctioned and he could not get the garage
door to open. Worse, he couldn't re-enter the house because the door
connecting the garage to the house locked when Dickson pulled it shut.
Forced to sit for eight, count 'em, EIGHT days and survive on a case of
Pepsi and a large bag of dry dog food, he sued the homeowner's insurance
company claiming undue mental Anguish. Amazingly, the jury said the
insurance company must pay Dickson $500,000 for his anguish. We should all
have this kind of anguish.

#4
Jerry Williams, of Little Rock, Arkansas, garnered 4th Place in the
Stella's when he was awarded $14,500 plus medical expenses after being
bitten on the butt by his next door neighbor's beagle - even though the
beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. Williams did not get as
much as he asked for because the jury believed the beagle might have been
provoked at the time of the butt bite because Williams had climbed over the
fence into the yard and repeatedly shot the dog with a pellet gun.

#3
Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania because a jury ordered a
Philadelphia restaurant to pay her $113,500 after she slipped on a spilled
soft drink and broke her tail bone. The reason the soft drink was on the
floor: Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during
an argument. What ever happened to people being responsible for their own
actions?

#2
Kara Walton, of Claymont , Delaware sued the owner of a night club in a
nearby city because she fell from the bathroom window to the floor, knocking
out her two front teeth. Even though Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through
the ladies room window to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge, the jury said
the night club had to pay her $12,000....oh, yeah, plus dental expenses. Go
figure.

And the winner is!
Mrs. Merv
Grazinski, of Oklahoma City , Oklahoma , who purchased new 32-foot Winnebago
motor home. On her first trip home, from an OU football game, having driven
on to the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the
driver's seat to go to the back of the Winnebago to make herself a sandwich.
Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway, crashed and overturned.
Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not putting in the
owner's manual that she couldn't actually leave the driver's seat while the
cruise control was set. The Oklahoma jury awarded her, are you sitting down?
$1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home. Winnebago actually changed their manuals
as a result of this suit, just in case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who
might also buy a motor home.

Amazing, nothing but amazing.

OMG Louie.

Poor Louie. Can´t even leave the rehearsal without the paparazzi.

How weird is the hug when they say goodbye? Like 100 photos taken.. how strange.

Watch the video here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLyVNJvEZHg

Louie seems to be the favorite too.

Words of wisdom?

Got this in the electronic mailbox today. I definitely identified with a lot of them.

Random thoughts from people 25-35 years old..

-Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't
work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically
fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all
know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards
or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

-Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know"
feature on Facebook people that I do know, but I deliberately choose
not to be friends with?

-There is a great need for sarcasm font.

-I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

-Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and
suddenly realize I had no idea what the f was going on when I first
saw it.

- Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart",
all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

-What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

- While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and
instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

- MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I
know how to get out of my neighborhood.

- I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the
shower first and THEN turn on the water.

-I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me
if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I
swear I did not make any changes to.

- "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.

-I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to
answer when they call.

-I wonder if cops ever get pissed off at the fact that everyone they
drive behind obeys the speed limit.

New pictures from earlier trip..

Just uploaded some pictures from the other guys cameras (Erik J, Erik H & Peter H) from our Norway/Folgefonna trip.

You can see them here.

The first album can be viewed here.

Me?

I did a new type of search yesterday.

Found this on Damon Way´s blog:
http://arkitipintel.com/2009/08/24/internet-profile

You write your name and then the "internet profiler" finds out what you are about. Figured I´d give it a shot.
This was the result.

Sort of confused by the result I tried it again, and again.. all different results.

What I´m trying to say is don´t waste 10 min on this. It could have been semi cool, but it sucks.

Clip from Björkliden / Sweden.

Came across this clip that I filmed in May 2007 in the northern part of Sweden.

I filmed it with Jake Price, I shot the super8 and Jake the 16mm. My stuff never showed up.. I shipped it with DHL weeks before the trip but they fucked up and delivered it a few weeks after we had left. I was also recovering from by broken neck so super8 was pretty much the only thing I could film.

I like this segment. Not very progressive boarding, but I get a good feeling when I watch it.

Movie about the (possibly) most important architectural photographer in history.

I for one LOVE taking pictures of houses. Julius Shulman obviously did too.

I can´t wait to watch this movie. The trailer gave me goose bumps.

Trailer here:

Two of his most famous photos are of the Kaufmann house in Palm Springs which recently sold for 19 million $ (the house that is, not the photo:) and the Stahl house in LA.

Band Of Horses at Way Out West

The audio is pretty bad, but the song isn't.

I know BOH's are very 2007, but after hearing them in Gothenburg this weekend I have a new found appreciation for their music.

Here's their music video.. again, great song.

Really?! Buy a truck and you get an AK-47?!

These two clips basically tell the same story, but I had to watch both of them to make sure this car dealer dude was for real.

His motto for selling cars is "God, Guns, Guts and American Pick-Up Trucks". Really?!

When he talks about God in the CNN clip is just plain scary. I don´t see him being any more fit to walk the streets or being able to vote in public elections than most convicted felons. Yes I know that was a huge generalization of christians and felons, but you catch my drift.
When someone clings to God like this they are, in my book, insane.

I´m almost speechless, really... Did he just say Jesus would carry a sword if he had to because they didn´t have guns back when he, supposedly, lived?

And if you care to read the comments on the CNN clip.. wow. Just wow.
The comments on this Swedish website differ a little bit from the American ones..

Geees

I´m watching this later tonight. I browsed through it and can´t wait to watch the whole thing.

I´ve been a huge fan of Yann Arthus-Bertrand for a long time and I´m stoked he took on directing this movie.
There are some very interesting fact here.. like that it takes 13,000 liters of water to produce 1 kilo of beef. Hmmm.,,

Here´s the full movie, for free on Youtube:

And here´s the trailer:

Weird skateboard thing with inline wheels and snowboard feel?

Similar idea

The Crapneto people did this intro that´s very reminiscent to the new Coldplay video I posted yesterday.

How to not run a contest.

The X-Games is a crazy event, on many levels.

Read what Chris Nieratkos thinks about the event and the people behind it.

Here´s an except:
And so it happens that this past weekend Grandpa Bostick (head of the World Cup of skateboarding) made a dickhead move that showed his age and pissed me off to no end: he wouldn’t let young Alex Olson skate in the Park Contest because he was ten minutes late due to LA traffic. The contest had just started, they were only into the first heat and he flat-out refused to fit Alex in. I wonder which side he was rooting for back when Hitler was defeated, because this is fucking skateboarding. It’s not meant to be taken that seriously. There are no rules and there’s no fucking clock on the wall. (Maybe he’s just a little sour that Alex’s dad, Steve, who is also pushing senior citizen status, is a whole lot cooler.)

Three of my Facebook friends posted this video today.

Figured it was worth sharing here too:

John Hughes

You gave us such great moments..

The Griswald's and Christine Brinkley in "National Lampoon's Vacation", how to make a hot babe on your computer in "Weird Science", Steve Martin and John Candy as awkward bedshare's and heartwarming x-mas hospitality, Ferris Bueller.. good times.

Your movies will live on for many more lifetimes.

John Hughes was only 59.

New Pepsi logo.

Really?! Who came up with this?!

Their new logo is reason enough for me not to drink Pepsi. What was wrong with the logo from the 70´s?

Gotta give it to Coca-Cola for sticking with their original logo.

Inspirational video.

This guy walked over 4000km and took pictures of his face along the way.

Here´s what happened in the finals when Travis Pastrana met Kenny Bräck.
