Two new clips from VHS.

Here's a clip with Eddie and Stian taking laps in Mammoth while the girls were gettin rad at the Jam.
Todd Richards and DC suit Sean Lake joined us for a few runs at the end of the day.

We also went to Sonora Pass (aka The Garden) the other day to look around.
Stian was definitely on a tanning mission as well.

The parking area at Sonora is usually packed with fellow filmers, photographers and riders but this day we were all by ourselves. Which wasn't surprising considering the snow conditions weren't top notch.

My new blog project.

Me and Eddie Wall started a video blog. I'm pretty exited about it.
I'll probably blog here less from now on.. I think.

Feel free to bookmark us:
www.videohypershred.com

We have a Facebook fan page:
www.facebook.com/pages/Video-Hyper-Shred
And Twitter: http://twitter.com/videohypershred
Join the fun.

Here's the teaser for it / us.

“Video Hyper Shred” (VHS)

California, March 26, 2010 — The goal of VHS, www.videohypershred.com, is to update videos and photos every single day of the season. The clips will be short, raw, and feature pro snowboarders, ams, legends, friends, skaters, girls, drunks, industry tools and animals. The site will include all types of snowboarding; film trips, fun laps, bangers, trick tips, archival footage, interviews, behind-the-scenes, hugs, high fives and much more.

VHS will be a great way for riders and companies to get their talent and image out to the public every single day. The creative possibilities are virtually endless and VHS aims to entertain everyone, whether they be pros, weekend warriors, kids, teens, fans, haters, or single women between the ages of 20 and 40.

The internet has changed the way snowboard videos are viewed. Declining dvd sales and growing online activity are signs that the old formula of how we film and view videos needs to change. Filming 200 days a year for a 2 min video part doesn´t make as much sense as it used to.

“Times are changing and we want to change with them. I feel like snowboarding has more to offer then a two minute video part at the end of the year. I just want to show people everything that is involved with snowboarding and this is the perfect way.” says Eddie. Pierre also comments “I have been filming for a long time and I am very excited to dive into something where I can combine my Facebook updating skills and my filmmaking.”

VHS is open to work with all snowboarders and companies. The site will launch today, March 24, 2010.

About VHS Creators:

Pierre Wikberg has been professionally filming snowboarding for 13 years. He has created many noteworthy projects such as the Robot Food trilogy and the DC MTN LAB series. Pierre is considered to be one of the most respected filmmakers in the snowboarding industry. A native of Sweden, he usually spends most of his time couch surfing around the world documenting things while looking for the perfect mojito.

Eddie Wall has been a professional snowboarder for ten years. He has produced over 16 video parts, won multiple contests, and has been ranked 8th in world wide coverage over the last 5 years. He currently lives between Mammoth Lakes and San Clemente, CA or wherever his snowboard, skateboard, and guitar take him.

This is what you do when you´re 40.

You go to Paris:

And you shoot toy guns:

Tuesday, December 29, 2009

Todd turned 40.

The infamous Todd Brandt Richards turned 40 yesterday.

He´s been ripping the board of snow for a living since the mid 80´s and he´s an inspiration for still being an active shredder and not being old at heart.

Hope you had a great birthday at the Pannakin.

Here´s some words by Todd:

Found a clip I made on Youtube.

Well not really. I made the clip for DC´s Mtn Lab movie in 2005 and I haven´t seen any clips from that movie with more than 100.000 views or something.
But this clip, which someone raped and put horrible (unless you are a Volcom stoner) jazz tunes to has 730.00 views. Incredible.
Kind of funny how at least 730.000 people have seen this clip, but only about 200.000 has seen the original version ( including 100.000 Youtube views).

Why change the song? Why put it the effort? And why this it have 730.000 views? 73 views would make more sense.
I read the comments and people like it..

Gees, no wonder I´m unemployed. I obviously don´t know what´s good anymore.... kidding, I do.

People are such morons.
What´s up with every other comment on clips on Youtube being "What´s the song?"
Fucking morons, in 90% of the cases it´s spelled out at the start or the end of the clip. The other 10% of the time it´s in the description. Fuck people, grow a fucking brain.
And I worry about changing an edit to another song until I get an ulcer.. then I spend 20 hours re-editing and always feel like I raped the original version. And then this dude completely lays down a new tune on it in 10 sec and people love it?!

And to the hundreds of thousands who think the dude who uploaded this clip made it, are you that stupid? I guess so.. I can´t wait for the lizards from V to come and eat this sorry excuse for a species. As long as they eat the stupid ones first. Then the ones who doesn´t believe us humans are an evolving species. Then they can eat me.

Here´s the original version, for those of you who care (not my upload):

So why do I care? I just have very little faith in humanity and people on Youtube. It´s scary.
Am I bitter? Not really. Just sucks to see something you made get raped. Since people still like the raped version it makes me think why me, the riders, the brands and the musicians involved in creating the original piece even bother.

Here are some of the 600 comments:

Some photos from the Diana Mini.

It´s a really fun camera. Small and it takes normal 35mm film.
I always like to shoot photos in pairs, or series and with this camera you always shoot two things on one frame..

There are no settings, except some focusing options, just point and shoot. Click on the pictures to enlarge.
Read more about it here:

Transworld posted the intro from Mtn Lab 1.5.

This is the intro to Mtn Lab 1.5 (the latest full length movie I worked on).

I've always been a fan of old ski video's from the 80's. This was a tribute to them.

Riding are; Todd Richards, Iikka Bäckström, Lauri Heiskari, Eddie Wall, Torstein Horgmo, Chas Guldemond, Travis Parker, Aaron Biittner and Renee Renee.

Louie on Dancing With The Stars!

So stoked to watch Louie on tv last night. I think I had a smile on my lips the entire dance.

It was also a treat to see my friends Todd and Chris in the audience as well. Chris had this very amusing expression on his face, haha check him out at 6:41 :)

The fact that ABC blurred Louie´s O-Matic logo on his snowboard in a 4 sec clip was pretty weak. Fuck corporate America.

If you are in the San Diego - OC area next Thursday

You might want to go to the La Paloma movie theatre in downtown Encinitas and watch Todd Richards´new movie "Me, Myself And I".

Free admission and that place will fill up fast. Come early.

Wish I was there. I basically shot all the decent stuff of that 40 year old.

Here´s his part we filmed at the DC house in 2007 (and some older stuff from NZ too):
